Welcome to Trinity!

Trinity is a community of Christians who gather together to celebrate, proclaim and live the love of God in Jesus Christ. To understand the heart of Trinity is to experience worship (Eucharist) with us. In the Eucharist we encounter the living God through the Word and the Meal Jesus gives us. Through these gifts Our Lord offers us forgiveness, new life and a new identity and empowers us to share his love with those we know and meet.

About Us

Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Elkhart, Indiana was formed in 1874 and is a member of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.  We are dedicated to worshipping God, ministry to families with children, and building strong Christian relationships in our families, friendships and communities.  We welcome you and invite you to explore our church.  To learn more about our our community of faith and what we value, visit our Mission/Vision page

What should I expect if I come to worship?

Ushers and a hospitality team are there to welcome you when you arrive.  You will be given a bulletin so that you can follow along and participate along with the screens in the front of the sanctuary.  Our worship services use a variety of musical styles depending on the service, but all follow the same structure and format of the historical Eucharist.

  • Saturday 5 PM & Sunday 9 AM - Blended (Piano, Acoustic Guitar, & Organ led)
  • Sunday 10:30 AM - Contemporary (Worship Team led)
  • Monday 6 PM - Spoken with hymns. Only during the summer months
  • Wednesdays 11am - Traditional

The Eucharist, which is the form and flow or worship, is celebrated each week which gives rhythm, pattern, and ritual to our worship and lives.  The high points in each service are the reading and instruction of the Holy Scriptures and the celebration of Holy Communion.

Do you have a nursery for my children?

We believe children are important and should be included in worship.  That being said, we do provide a parenting room for those with young children which still allows you to participate in worship.

Can I take Communion?

If you are new to the Lutheran Church we ask you to first talk to us before taking Communion.  Because we so value the gift of Communion we would like the chance to explain to you what we believe and what we are doing before you participate.

How do I join the church?

We offer a few different options for membership depending on your personal circumstances.  Please fill out our Interested in Membership survey and Sue Emmack our Director of Adult Discipleship will contact you soon.

Please contact Sue Emmack for more information on what to expect on your first visit.
