Thank you to all who attended our congregational meeting on August 18th and for the feedback we received. We did not receive any questions for further clarification or reporting. Attached are the approved minutes from the meeting. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact any of the members of your Church Council. They are listed in the new Ministry Catalog.
In our congregational vote, we approved moving forward with our generosity journey this year. We received 196 votes with 180 approving, 14 disapproving, and 1 abstention for a 92% approval. Our generosity journey will help us all become more generous people including the ways we further His Kingdom here at Trinity. The main emphasis in this journey will last until February, 2020.
This fall, anyone who wants to get involved and would like to help start this journey will be invited to attend a small group gathering. If you are interested, please contact Pr. Mielke by calling the office 5734-674-8800 or by email, pastormielke@trinityL.org.
At Trinity we hold at least two Congregational meetings each year so that the Church Council can report to the congregation its work in behalf of the congregation, field questions and seek input. Our next meeting is scheduled for Sunday, August 18th at noon and is planned to last about an hour. Childcare and light refreshments will be provided.
One major item on the agenda is a resolution to proceed with a Generosity Initiative which will help us resource our ministry goals and move us to debt freedom. This is something we discussed in the 20/20 Vision Meetings, as well as in previous congregational meetings. The staff and Council have been preparing for it and are asking the congregation to vote on starting this journey. You can read more about this Generosity Initiative in the FAQ which has been mailed to each household.
At our August 18th meeting we will present and discuss a resolution to begin the Generosity Initiative and then vote on it after each Eucharist on August 21st, 24th, 25th, and 26th.
