When we commemorated the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation in 2017, we built a wonderful friendship with St. Pius X Catholic Church. Our “That They May be One” series is an annual gathering of our parishes to continue that friendship, grow in faith and work together for the good of our community.

Trinity is proud to host this year’s event on Monday, Oct. 21, 7 PM with special guest, Deaconess Chrissie Gillet of Lutherans for Life and Word of Hope Ministries.

Frequently seen in boots and jeans, Chrissie reveals her Texan upbringing and love for country living. She and her husband, Pr. Steph Gillet, have seven children and Phoebe, their Labradoodl therapy dog. Phoebe will also be attending our event.

Chrissie earned a doctorate in clinical psychology from Spalding University. She served as an officer in the United States Air Force. God blessed her with a range of counseling experiences and in 2018 she was commissioned as a deaconess in the Lutheran Church. She has served Lutherans for Life ever since. She also serves as Director of Word of Hope where she answers hotline calls and emails with compassion, truth and love. Chrissie also writes articles, publicly speaks, and leads Bible studies on a range of topics related to life issues.

We look forward to listening to Chrissie speak about, “Compassionately Responding to People Suffering with Life Issues.” Times for prayer and fellowship will round out the evening. Those who attend are also asked to bring items for two of our area’s pro-life agencies, RETA (Reason Enough to Act) and Hannah’s House. Both places requested baby wipes that can be given to families. In addition, RETA requested laundry detergent and Hannah’s House is in need of baby sleep sacks.
