Serving Together in Caraballo: Trinity’s Spring 2027 Mission Trip
Trinity Lutheran is sending a team to the Dominican Republic, and we want you to be part of the story.
From April 3-10, 2027, a team of 12-18 members will travel to Caraballo, Dominican Republic to serve alongside Seed to Sower Ministries at Park School and in the surrounding community. Seed to Sower (the successor to KidsAliveDR) has over 30 years of established ministry in the Dominican Republic, with long-standing, stable leadership and a deep commitment to the people they serve. On the ground in Caraballo, missionaries Rachel and Sammy Chavez are the family we’ll be partnering with directly.
What the team will do: The work is hands-on and Christ-centered: school-based activities with kids, sports ministry, maintenance and construction projects, environmental cleanup, and evangelistic outreach. A typical day starts with devotions and breakfast at the Team House, volunteering at Park School from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and winding down with local cultural experiences, team fellowship, and evening devotions.
Why this trip matters: This isn’t just a week away from home. It’s about building a real cross-cultural partnership, strengthening relationships with in-country partners, and growing spiritually through shared experience and service. The goal is to complete meaningful service projects at Park School while equipping every team member for a Christ-centered life on mission.
How to get involved: Applications are open now through September 30. Each participant is expected to raise $1,000 through team-based sponsorship and fundraising activities, with roughly 50% of the total trip cost already covered by the church. After team selection in October, monthly preparation meetings run from November through February, including two sessions directly with Seed to Sower staff.
Can’t go? You can still make an impact. Pray for the team and our partners in Caraballo. Support fundraising events as they’re announced. And stay tuned for updates as the team prepares and eventually shares their stories when they return.
